Over 320 Students Put Their Math Skills To The Test
By Aemy Azlena

Bandar Seri Begawan - Around 320 students from 78 government and private schools in the country took part in the 3`d Primary School Mathematics Olympiad (PSMO 2008) yesterday.

Students from Brunei-Muara and Temburong took the test at Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College, while those from Belait and Tutong sat for the paper at Sayyidina Othman Secondary School.

The competition was organised by the Science, Technology and Environment Partnership (STEP) Centre, Ministry of Education, with cooperation from Brunei Shell Petroleum Company.

Besides answering questions based on the Upper Primary Mathematics Syllabi for Brunei, the primary students were also tested on their general knowledge in the field of mathematics.

The written test was divided into two sections - 18 short answers and six essay problems.

This year, students only needed to sit for one round, unlike previous years. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
