Brunei Press Booth Well Received At Book Fair

Bandar Seri Begawan - Scores of people yesterday flocked to the Brunei Press Sdn Bhd booth at the Brunei Book Fair 2008 - which is currently being held at the International Convention Centre in Berakas - in search of the latest publications.

Aside from exhibiting, Brunei Press is also one of the sponsors of the fair, which will end on March 7.

Among the many visitors were students keen on reading the Borneo Bulletin, Weekend and Sunday Bulletin as well as the Media Permata.

"We look forward especially to the Sunday edition, where contributions by students from different schools are featured once a week," they said.

Meanwhile, the Brunei Press booth also features its latest publications such as `Remember, Remember... 8th of December' by His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah.

"The book is one of the most sought after publications at this book fair," said a staff manning the Brunei Press booth.

Meanwhile, the Language and Literature Bureau, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports - the organisers of the fair - invite students to visit the event and participate in the various contests.

Commencing today, daily contests and activities such as general quiz, picture puzzles, treasure hunts and talent tests will take place in the morning, afternoon and night on a purpose-built stage at the venue.

"Tomorrow, aside from daily contests, there will be a drawing and colouring contest for children aged seven to nine years in the morning, and those aged 10 to 12 in the afternoon," said Hjh Rasiah bte Hj Tuah, the co-secretary of the fair.

Additionally, the children's book illustrations workshop will also commence tomorrow. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
