Bandar Seri
Begawan - The launching ceremony of `Generating Knowledge
Culture' campaign was held yesterday at the mini theatre of Maktab
Universiti Perguruan Ugama Seri Begawan (KUPUSB).
Present as the guest of honour was
Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang
Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Deputy
Minister of Religious Affairs.
In his speech, the Deputy Minister
congratulated all the leaders and members of the KUPUSB students'
association for managing the Generating Knowledge Culture campaign.
"I believe it represents a
knowledgeable activity that does not clash with moral character. I
understand that all the research in the campaign concerns the
administrative roles of principals and headmasters in the management
of schools. It is a research that is obligatory for all students as
one of the organisation courses that they pursue," he said.
KUPUSB
is a knowledge centre specialising in the religious teaching field.
As a newly established university,
efforts in upholding the knowledge culture is obligatory to generate
and enliven at the early stages so that excellence at KUPUSB can be
made into a reality. Upon realising this, students have requested
KUPUSB to organise the `Generating Knowledge Culture' campaign at
the campus. Since the purpose of the campaign is to produce a `One
Culture' community, the organisational work will be conducted
throughout the second semester session of 2008.
Among the objectives of the
Generating Knowledge Culture campaign is to create a sense of
awareness among students towards the importance of possessing the
knowledge culture as an obligation for each student to become
professionals in the religious teaching field. It is also to create
an environment of knowledge culture at the campus with knowledgeable
activities.
Also present at the event was Dato
Paduka Awg Hj Ishaaq Hj Abdullah, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the
Ministry of Religious Affairs, Dr Hj Abdullah bin Hj Lampoh, Deputy
Ra'es KUPUSB, Hj Manan bin Hj Osman, Students' President, lecturers
