Brunei-Oman Meeting Seeks To
Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Begawan - The Tenth Bilateral Meeting was held between the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Brunei Darussalam and the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman on Tuesday.
In a press release, the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs and Trade said, "Pehin Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng,
Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Brunei Darussalam
led the Brunei delegation, while Sayyid Bath bin Hamad bin Hamood Al
Busaidi, Secretary-General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
Sultanate of Oman led the Oman delegation.
"The two sides exchanged views on
ways and means to enhance bilateral cooperation and reviewed the
existing cooperation between both countries.
The two sides then discussed
regional and international matters. Both sides expressed
satisfaction with the friendly and close relations and agreed on the
importance of further strengthening cooperation between the two
countries.
"Also present in the meeting were
Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Adam bin Haji Ahmad, Ambassador of Brunei
Darussalam to the Sultanate of Oman, and officials from the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
"The Bilateral Consultative Meeting
between Brunei Darussalam and the Sultanate of Oman was established
in 1993 with the purpose of strengthening bilateral relations.
"The first meeting was held in the
same year in Bandar Seri Begawan. Various areas have been identified
covering economic, trade and investment, oil and gas, education,
agriculture and fisheries and culture," said the press release. -- Courtesy of
