DPMM FC Go Down To Terengganu
By Alex How

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei DPMM FC lost 2-0 to Terengganu in a Malaysian Super League game at Sultan Ismail Stadium in Kuala Terengganu last night.

Terengganu opened the account through a powerful header by Brazilian Gleisson (Freire) Jorge De Souza in the 9th minute. Terengganu initiated their attack down the left and sent a beautiful cross towards Jorge De Souza who beat Brunei DPMM FC's keeper Pg Hamzah Pg Hj Abd Rahman from close range.

Pg Hamzah who stood in goal for injured Md Wardun Yussof was tested from the beginning of the game.

Brunei DPMM FC almost replied immediately with a goal when skipper Fadlin Galawat tried a volley from Md Shahrazen Said's cross. But the experienced striker was not able to keep the ball downward.

Jorge De Souza who had eight goals this season before kick off looked hungry to look for more goals. The Brazilian striker tried a wide shot from the right only to see it swept away from goal in the 27th minute.

Brunei DPMM FC's defender Abdel Hakim Al-Bahloul, back from injury, kept a keen eye on the dangerman of Terengganu. The rock solid defending by the Moroccan defender, alongside Francois Mpessa, stopped the team from conceding another in the first half.

Brunei DPMM FC were forced to make an early change after the half hour mark. Md Helmi Panjang who picked up an injury earlier was replaced by Hj Khairol Anwar.

After the restart, Brunei DPMM FC were determined to get an equaliser. Fadlin started a great run down the middle looking for support from each side of the field.

Wingers Hardi Bujang and Azwan Salleh were ready to receive any through ball from their captain, but Terengganu were quick to close down Fadlin before he could make the breakthrough.

Jorge De Souza finally scored his second for the team in the 62nd minute. De Souza lost his marker and put a powerful shot past keeper Pg Hamzah to lead 2-0.

Despite trailing by two goals, Brunei DPMM FC put up a good fight against the home team. Wingback Sairol Sahri came forward to help in attack and almost got himself on the scoresheet. Sairol attempted a long shot from the left only to see his shot cruised above the bar.

Abdel Hakim Al-Bahloul, who scored an away goal against'Polis (PDRM), almost pulled one back for the visitors. Hj Subhi Abdillah Bakir sent in a delightful cross towards the tall defender but was inches wide from goal.
