SCB Launches KrisFlyers Rewards Programme

Bandar Seri Begawan - Standard Chartered Bank Brunei has taken the next step in introducing exciting, value added rewards to its credit card members by introducing Singapore Airlines' KrisFlyer miles into its credit card rewards programme.

KrisFlyer is Singapore Airlines' award winning frequent flyer programme. Customers can earn and accumulate KrisFlyer miles when spending at KrisFlyer's partners which include world-class airlines, hotels, car rental and telecommunication companies. Customers can use KrisFlyer miles to redeem free air tickets or upgrade their class of travel on Singapore Airlines, SilkAir and selected Star Alliance Partners, an SCB press release said.

From February 20, all Standard Chartered credit card members are eligible to convert their Standard Dollar (Std$) points earned from their credit card into KrisFlyer miles as long as they are enrolled as KrisFlyer members. For customers who are not yet KrisFlyer members and wish to become one, they can simply visit krisflyer.com and enrol online.

Converting Std$ points is easy and should be made in blocks of Std$ 1,000 at the conversion rate of I Std$ point to 2.2 KrisFlyer miles. Customer need only call Standard Chartered's Phone Banking Centre at 265 8000 to effect conversion or fill in a redemption form at any Standard Chartered Bank branch.

To add excitement to the launch of this strategic partnership, Standard Chartered is offering its Platinum and Gold credit card members additional bonus miles when they convert their Std$ points to KrisFlyer miles. For a limited period till May 31, 2008, Platinum card members will enjoy accelerated conversion rates of I Std$ to 3 KrisFlyer miles, while Gold card members can enjoy conversion rates of 1 Std$ to 2.5 KrisFlyer miles.
