Ripas Nurses Attend Critical Care
Workshop

Begawan - Over 60 nursing staff from RIPAS hospital are
attending a two-day workshop on `Practical Aspect of Basic
Haemodynamic Monitoring' that ends today.
It was officiated by Pg Hashim bin
Pg Haji Besar, Acting Director of Hospital Services, Ministry of
Health.
The workshop aims to ensure the
advancement of nursing practices in monitoring haemodynamic statuses
and to introduce the latest development in intensive treatment that
requires invasive monitoring.
The nurses will gain knowledge on
arterial pressure monitoring and central venous pressure monitoring
to be able to assist doctors in the analysis and diagnosis of
illness, and facilitate treatment and medication plans with fewer
complications.

Hashim said the continuous development of medical treatment
according to medical development of science and technology requires
all medical workforces to be constantly updated with knowledge and
expertise.
"The Ministry of Health, through
the Medical Services Department, constantly prioritises Continuous
Nurse Education (CNE). The workshop is in line with the ambition and
aspirations of RIPAS in ensuring a competent and talented workforce
in intensive care.
"In the nursing field, particularly in intensive
care, medical workers play an important role in ensuring effective
and quality treatment.
"They hold a heavy responsibility
with high expectations from stakeholders in the services that they
provide," he said.
He urged all medical workers to
practise teamwork as part of their daily culture at work, as
teamwork is an integral component in effective and comprehensive
treatments.
The two-day workshop ends this
