Discounted Air Fares At Belait Travel Fair
By P Marilyn

Kuala Belait - The 3rd Annual Belait Travel Fair to be held on March 1 and 2 at the Oil and Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC) in Seria promises attractive travel fares of up to 50 per cent off.

The organisers of the event, Royal Brunei Airlines and Abacus Distribution Systems (Brunei), announced this during a press conference with members of the media yesterday at the Abacus office in the capital.

"Royal Brunei Airlines will be providing the lowest fares so far this year during the travel fair for all Abacus connected travel agents. At the same time, we are also increasing the age limit for children fares, for the first time ever, to 18 years of age, from the previous 12 years," said Dk Rodzi Pg Haji Abd Rahman, Sales Manager Brunei, and Royal Brunei Airlines.

"The travel fair allows customers to make bookings during the two-day travel fair but travel validity extends until the year end. Last day of payment for air tickets would be on March 7," added Dk Rodzi.

The two-day event will see a gathering of Brunei's travel industry players such as Brunei Tourism, Royal Brunei Airlines, Century Travel Centre Sdn Bhd, Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd, Freme Travel Services Sdn Bhd, Pan Bright Travel Service, Southern Cross Travel Agencies Sdn Bhd and Takaful IBB to showcase their offerings.

"This annual event is a continuous commitment to the residents of the Belait District, providing a platform for them to shop and make bookings from the best deals offered during the travel fair," said Abd Halim Haji Abd. Rahman, Sales and Marketing Manager, Abacus Brunei.

"It also portrays our support towards domestic tourism and the Brunei Tourism in promoting 'Kenali Negara Kitani' (KNK)-Campaign as visitors who call on the travel fair can learn more about Brunei through the KNK booth," added Abd Halim.

Carrying the theme 'Family' this year, the fair is expected to draw in more than 2,000 visitors, who can expect a fun-filled family day experience at OGDC. A number of entertaining activities will be held at the event, such as spin the wheel, face painting, hourly quizzes hosted by DJ Jenny of Kristal FM and DJ Izan of Pilihan FM.

Attractive incentives are also introduced this year for customers who make bookings or purchase an air ticket during the two-day event. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
