Primary Students Take Part In
Science Olympiad

- About 303 primary students throughout the Sultanate
yesterday participated in the Sixth Primary School Science Olympiad
2008 at Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College and Sayyidina
Othman Secondary School in Tutong.
The Olympiad was organised by the
Science, Technology and Environment Partnership Centre (STEP
Centre), Ministry of Education with cooperation from the Brunei
Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd.
About 72 government and 24
non-government schools, as well as four schools from the Ministry of
Religious Affairs took part in the competition.
This year's competition format was
different from the previous years where all the students only had to
sit for one round.
The objectives of the competition
are to improve the competence of the students in science, to nurture
talent and develop interest in the subject, as well as to motivate
them in developing their intellectual capacity and skills. -- Courtesy of Borneo
