Role Model Stations Feted At BSM

Begawan - Brunei Shell Marketing Company (BSM) Sdn Bhd
yesterday held its 4th Chairman Awards Night at the Royal Berkshire,
Jerudong Park and Polo Club to honour the management and staff of
outstanding petrol stations in the country.
Petrol stations nationwide took
part in the "Role Model Station" programme, which encouraged the
management and staff of petrol stations to provide top-notch
services.
The Chairman Award went to nine
petrol stations this year — one under the 'Platinum' category, five
under the ‘Gold’ category and three under the 'Silver' category.
The 'Platinum' winner was Stesen
Minyak Perusahaan Cahaya Pakatan Tutong, while the `Gold' winners
were IBA Petrol Station & Trading, Stesen Minyak & Servis Berakas,
Roxana Shell Service Station, Stesen -Minyak Penyurat H A Bakar Bin
Jambol and Koperasi Perniagaan & Perusahaan Melayu Seria.
The three winners under the
'Silver' category were Syarikat Amanah Hj Abdullah, Stesen Minyak
Koperasi Kg Keriam and Syarikat Stesen Minyak Telisai.
The event also honoured the top
three performers in the "LPG Distributors League Programme" and top
ten cooperatives.
Prizes were presented by the guest
of honour, Pehin Dato Awang Hj Yahya bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka
Hj Bakar, the Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office cum
Chairman of BSM Board of Directors.
Earlier, BSM Managing Director Pg
Hj Yasmin bin Pg Hj Mohamad lauded all BSM staff members,
contractors, business stations and LPG distributors for their hard
work and dedication.
He pointed out that BSM had passed
the six-year mark without any accidents.
He hoped that other petrol stations
in the country would follow the example set by the "Role Model
Station" winners.
According to a press release from
BSM, 2008 holds many more challenges for petrol stations to meet the
increase in customer demand.
Furthermore, petrol stations will
have to fully comply with the directive on the sale of petroleum
products issued by the Energy Division of the Prime Minister's
Office, as well as the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
procedures by March 3.
Also attending last night's event
was Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, Pg Dato
Paduka Hj Abu Bakar PSI Pg Hj Ismail, dealers, distributors, senior
