Secondary Students
By Za'im Zaini
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Beginning this March, courses on instilling and
enhancing Islamic morals among students will be extended to lower
secondary students in all government and private secondary schools.
This was revealed to the Bulletin
yesterday by the Islamic Dakwah Centre's Head of the Course and
Women's Guidance Section. Hill Raemah Hj Dagang, during the Islamic
understanding sem Mar.
The decision was taken due to the
feedback received from headmasters who see such a course as being
not only aood for students but also for teachers. The course is a
joint effort by the department and Department of Schools.
She added that the course on
instilling and enhancing Islamic morals has been conducted for more
than 5,000 primary school students since 2000. Every year, the
section holds the course at different schools.
The course content covers the role
of students in Islam, the importance of knowledge and the impacts of
undesirable social elements and how to overcome them.
As for "nadwah rohani" course for
government secondary school students, from 2002 until now, 221 have
attended the course which aims to raise awareness of the importance
of Islamic knowledge and prayer rituals.
