Orientation Programme At Berakas
Sixth Form Centre

Begawan - The Berakas Sixth Form Centre yesterday received
its third intake of 656 new Lower Sixth students in a ceremony
called `The Lower Sixth Admission of Academic Year cum School Base
National Day Celebration.
The event held in the centre's
auditorium was attended by Principal Mdm Lee Yen Tshin @ Mrs Lee, Pg
Hj Idris Pg Hj Au Bakar, Senior Education Officer of Secondary
School, Ministry of Education, Deputy Principal I, Cikgu Abdullah
Ismail, Deputy Principal II, Cikgu Hjh Noridah Abdullah, senior
officers, as well as lecturers and staff members.
In her speech, the principal
highlighted the importance of "Tunas Bangsa", the 24th National
Day's theme, as youths are the nation's future.
This was followed by briefings from
senior officers, who talked about the rules and regulations, as well
as a tour of educational facilities, among many others.
The aims of the orientation, which
will run until March 6, are to familiarise students with the school,
administration, lecturers and staff members, as well as their peers.
In total, there are 22 classes and
currently 1,218 students are at the centre, including the Upper Six,
who are of Malay, Indian, Chinese, Nepalese and Eurasian origins. -- Courtesy of Borneo
