Seameo Voctech Opens Two-Wee ICT

Begawan - The opening ceremony for a two-week training
programme on "Integrating Learning Technology Interactivity Within
VTET" was held yesterday at Seameo Voctech Regional Centre, Gadong.
Present to officiate the opening
was Seameo Voctech Regional Centre Director Mohamad bin Abu Bakar.
Mohamad,
in his welcoming remarks, said, "Today, Seameo Voctech is embarking
on another course that is aimed at building capacities and
empowering Southeast Asian educators in the field of information and
communication technology, particularly towards a more dynamic and
effective teaching-learning process."
To make Seameo Voctech Regional
Centre a relevant and significant institution, various activities
will be carried out during the programme including a briefing that
will be joined by envoys and senior officials in Brunei Darussalam.
There will also be a two-day
environmental management seminar, starting today, which will see the
participation of 80 educators and researchers from environmentally
geared institutions in the country, and a half-day workshop on
February 27.
Meanwhile, the main objective of
the training programme is to enhance participants' understanding in
ICT so as to incorporate its interactivity into education
effectively to support the teaching and learning activities in VTET
institutions.
Specifically, the course will
enable participants to discuss ICT interactive learning materials
development in VTET, integrate the application of ICT to teaching,
and supporting learning, develop an interactive web based teaching
and learning materials, and review the impact of information and
learning technologies development project.
Meanwhile, the training programme
is joined by 18 participants from 10 Southeast Asian countries -
Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, LAO PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar,
Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. -- Courtesy of Borneo
