Spectacular Fireworks Display

Bandar Seri Begawan - To enliven the 24th National Day celebration, members of the public were treated to a half an hour of fireworks display that lit up the sky in the capital Saturday evening.

Crowds gathered at Taman Jubilee Perak and its surrounding area to admire the spectacular display of lights. Many drivers stopped their vehicles by the roadside to get a glimpse of the pyrotechnics.

The fireworks display was launched by Awang Haji Ahmad Bin Haji Abdul Rahman, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Culture, Youth and Sports, the guest of honour, and Pehin Orang Kaya Ratna Setia Dato Setia Haji Awang Abdul Hapidz Bin Pehin Orang Kaya Laksamana Haji Awang Abdul Razak, the chairman of the Sponsorship Committee of the 24th National Day Celebration.

This is the first time the sponsorship committee has organised such an event. Meanwhile, another fireworks display lit up the sky at the Empire Hotel and Country Club.

Large crowds flocked to the hotel to witness yet another magnificent display of fireworks which started at around 10.30pm

Armed with cameras of all sorts, including camera phones, the crowds took pictures of the beautiful fireworks display.

The 25-minute show was sponsored by Awangku Sharifful Bahri Bin Pengiran Seri Indera Pengiran Haji Ismail and Pengiran Adanan Bin Pengiran Seri Indera Pengiran Haji Ismail.
