Cleaning Campaign In Kampong Layong

Tutong - The Tutong District Office in collaboration with the Kampong Layong Village council yesterday held a cleaning campaign around the new community hall of Kampong Layong. Present at the event was Awg Hi Muhammad Suffian Bin Hj Bungsu, Acting Tutong District Officer.

Kampong Lamunin Fire and Rescue personnel, Police personnel Tutong Lamunin branch, Penghulu and Ketua Kampong of Mukim Lamunin, officers from the Tutong District Office, members of the Kampong Layong council as well as residents of Kampong Layong were also present.

The cleaning campaign was aimed at enhancing cooperation and community living that has been the practice of the Brunei public, as well as to present comfort and safety thus making the hall ready to be utilised. The new community hall was officially opened yesterday. The establishment of the community hall helped increase cooperation and understanding between the residents and various government agencies involved in the campaign.

The project which was made possible through the special budget allocation of the Tutong District Office and managed by the Public Works Department cost about $200,000.

It is equipped with a badminton court, office units, store and toilet and was completed in October last year.

The Acting Tutong District Officer hopes that the public will take care and make use of the facilities provided by the government.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
