Boustead Marks anniversary 50th

Bandar Seri Begawan - In recognition of the hard work, around 100 staff members of Boustead Sdn Bhd were treated to a night of entertainment and food last Saturday at the Orchid Garden Hotel.

The theme of this year's annual dinner was Oldies Night to celebrate the 50th anniversary.

Also present were members of the Lim Teck Hoo Holding Group of Companies.

The guest of honour, Dato Paduka Lim Beng Thai, the Chairman of Boustead Sdn Bhd, in his welcoming address said, "This dinner is a small way of thanking each and every one of you for what you have done on a daily basis. Your effort and contribution have a profound impact on the company and are greatly appreciated.

"Tonight, we gather here to also celebrate Boustead's 50 years anniversary. We have had a long journey to say the least, remembering our good and bad days while building up our strong and prominent image.

"Boustead's humble beginning was in 1957 with only five staff and after 50 years, it has grown into a reputable establishment with around 100 personnel," he added.

During the celebration, Boustead also presented awards to 16 staff in recognition of their hard work in 2007

Betty Tan grabbed the Nissan Top Sales award while Roslina Md Ade Hirny took home the Suzuki Top Sales award. Francis Yong won the Best Customer Service award while Employee of the Year award went to Ng Kai Seng.

The Long Service Award for 10 years went to Dayang Rosnah Bakar, Dayang Rafiah Ludin, Awang Shahnom Hj Ahmad, Awang Kadaffi Awang Damit, Ang Shak Fui and Alex Leong Yew Wah. Meanwhile the Long Service Award for 15 years went to Mr Lim Eng Ann and Miss Betty Tan Teo King Hong.

The 20 years Long Service Award recipients were Mr Lim Ping Hing, Mr Ha Hau Khon and Dayang Zubaidah binti Abd Ghani while Miss Foo Chee Man took home the only 25 years Long Service Award.

The evening was filled with entertainment from a live band playing throughout the night and was enlivened with lucky draw prizes. In addition, the Best Dressed King and Queen of the night were also awarded.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
