Bundles Of Joy On National Day

Bandar Seri Begawan - While the nation was celebrating its 24th National Day yesterday, three first time mothers had a reason to join in the celebration with a smile, pride and gratitude as they delivered their respective first child at the RIPAS Hospital in the capital.

First baby recorded was a 2.410kg baby girl delivered by proud mother, 19-year-old Sumayati Ajut, at 6.27am. It was followed by 23-year-old Artini Mat Serudin who gave birth to a 3.130kg baby girl at 10.06am and I 9-year-old Rosieyana Brahim who gave birth to a 3.020kg baby girl at 11.43am.

In the Tutong District, the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital recorded a baby boy weighing 3.740kg at 11.55am, the fourth child for 30-year-old Marlianah Nagawan.

Pengiran Isteri Hajah Mariam Hospital in the Temburong District meanwhile saw no delivery of National Day babies. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
