Petrol Smugglers Foiled

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Royal Brunei Police Force through the RUC Muara successfully aborted an attempt to smuggle regular petrol to a neighbouring state.

RTB reported last night that the attempt was intercepted when several reserve police personnel who were on routine patrol came across two people standing by jerry cans of regular petrol and a motorcycle parked nearby.

The duo ran away when the police approached them. Two jerry cans of regular petrol which were hidden under the bushes were recovered.

The police meanwhile will conduct more patrols and roadblocks at border areas to prevent any criminal activities.

A permanent resident was detained for further questioning. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
