Need For Great Teamwork
By Alex How

Bandar Seri Begawan - Great teamwork will bring a better result for Brunei DPMM FC when they take on Selangor FA in a Malaysian Super League match the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium tonight. This was stressed by Brunei DPMM FC coach Jordan Stoykov at a training session yesterday.

Stoykov urged the players to gel as a team when facing Selangor in the second round of the Malaysian Super League. Brunei DPMM FC suffered a 5-1 loss to Selangor in the first leg of FA Cup on Tuesday night, but Stoykov has something different in his mind when they meet again tonight.

"We played them on Tuesday, then on Saturday and another one in the return leg (March 4, second leg of FA Cup)," said Stoykov. "We will try to play another way against them this time."

"We have played well in the first 20 minutes (on Tuesday night) but after missing couples of.scoring opportunities, the players started to lose their confidence," Stoykov added.

On the training camp, Stoykov hopes that all the key players, except their skipper Rosmin Kamis, will be back in time from injury. The team captain will be out for the rest of the season after suffering a serious injury during a training session.

Brunei DPMM FC striker Tiago Dos Santos and defender Abdel Hakim ElBahloul are haunted with a hamstring injury.

Sairol Sahri is also doubtful for the team when he was taken out by Stoykov at the end of the first half. He was badly tackled by a Selangor defender on Tuesday night.

Should he recover from the injury, he will join Tiago and Abdel Hakim El-Bahloul in the starting line-up against Selangor tonight.

Malaysian Victor Jaganathan has been in impressive form in his first season with Brunei DPMM FC. The pacey winger showed his tricky foot and great flair when taking on his markers in previous matches. Jaganathan will be one of the attacking options that Stoykov shall look into.

Brunei DPMM FC will need to give Selangor's Mohd Safee Sali a closer look as the 24-year-old striker grabbed his second hat-trick and 12 goals in total this season. He scored one against Brunei DPMM FC on Tuesday night and another against Police in the Super League back in January.

Together with his striker partner, Frank Seator, the duo has scored 22 goals in between them.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
