Francophonie Day

Begawan - Alliance Francaise will be organising a 'Speak
French Week' in celebration of the International Day of Francophonie
slated on March 20.
Francophonie
refers to 'the phenomenon of speaking French', and Francophones are
persons who speak the language.
The event began in 1998, and will
be celebrated by half a billion Francophones around the world, as a
way for the 49 members of La Francophonie to celebrate their common
bond, the French Language, as well as their diversity.
To date, there are 33
French-speaking countries in five continents, comprising of 55
