Major Roads Closed For N-Day

Bandar Seri Begawan - Several major roads in the capital will be closed today, beginning 6.30 am, while roads used by those with special parking passes will be closed, beginning 7.30 am, to facilitate the National Day celebrations.

This was announced yesterday by Deputy Director of Investigation and Traffic Control Ag Senior Supt Pengiran Kamaluddin PSR Pengiran Jaya during a press conference at the Police Headquarters, Gadong.

He said among the roads closed are "the traffic lights at Jalan Tutong near the Ba'adiah building, the traffic lights at Jalan Dato Haji Basir near the fire station in the capital, the traffic lights near Jalan Kumbang Pasang (near St George's School), Jalan Bendahara, Jalan Elizabeth II, traffic lights at Jalan Stoney (near Terrace Hotel), traffic lights at Jalan Kianggeh/Jalan Elizabeth II (clock tower) and traffic lights at Jalan Kianggeh/Jalan Elizabeth II (near the Chinese temple)".

Other roads that will be closed today include: Jalan Sultan/Jalan PemanCha, Jalan Residency, Jalan McArthur, Jalan Subok near the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade building, Jalan Cator, Jalan Roberts, Jalan Elizabeth II/Jalan Stoney, and Jalan Sumbiling (near the BSB Police Station). -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
