Literary Writers Commemorate
National Day In Roadshow

Tutong
- Local poets including winners of Thailand's SEAWrite Award
will recite patriotic verses of poems in honour of the country's
independence at the Tamu Serambangun, Tutong tomorrow night,
February 24, in an effort to enliven the spirit of patriotism and
nationalism commemorating the 24th National Day celebration.
The Independence Poem Recital
Roadshow will be officiated by acting Tutong District Officer, Hj
Muhd Suffian bin Hj Bungsu.
The guest of honour will deliver a
speech by the organising chairman, Dr Mataim bin Bakar, the Director
of Language and Literature Bureau (DBP), Ministry of Culture, Youth
and Sports.
Amongst those who are expected to
attend the event are winners of Thailand's SEAWrite Award, and
literary writers and activists.
Patriotic poems will be recited by
SEAWrite awardees, YAM Pengiran Setia Negara Pengiran Haji Mohd
Yusof Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahim or Yura Halim reciting Tangisan
Terjajah or "The Cries of Victims of Imperialist" and Prof Madya Dr
Hj Hashim Hj Abd Hamid or A Hashim Hamid (Titipan).
Another winner of Thailand's
SEAWrite Award 1992, A Rahman Yusof will read several verses of
syair or traditional poetry.
Poets and readers like Abdullah
Tahir, Adi Misere, Dino MN, Sulaiman Duraman, Yusuf MD, Artfina,
Camar Putih, Hj Isyarah Sadri Hj Osman, Insp Md Baharin Shah Hj Abu
Bakar, Rohaidah Kinchai, Rahim Dulani and Mas Kelana will recite
