Al-Quran Recital Competiton For Belait Schools

Kuala Belait - The al-Quran recital competition for religious and Arabic preparatory schools in Belait was held yesterday at Sungai Tali, Lumut Religious School.

The event's chief guest who presented prizes to the winners was Belait District's Islamic Education Officer Ustaz Hj Ali Lani. The contest was organised by the Belait District's Religious Co-Curriculum Department.

According to Headmistress Ustazah Hjh Sairah Hj Lahit, the winners will represent the district at the national level al-Quran recital competition for religious and Arabic preparatory schools in the country to be held later.

Also attending yesterday's programme were Belait District's Islamic Education Co-Curriculum Officer Hj Abdullah Bakri, as well as the headmasters and headmistresses of religious schools in the district. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
