Financial Course To Be Held March 4

Bandar Seri Begawan - The "Overview of Recent Development in International Accounting and Financial Reporting Standards" course, co-organised by BICPA-FTMS Accountancy Academy, will be held March 4 and 5 at the Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong.

Ms Lim Geok Heng, a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and Chartered Accountant of the Malaysia Institute of Accountant, will address the two-day course.

Ms Lim has 20 years of experience in areas, including auditing, financial accounting, treasury functions, education and training. Her past appointments include the position of technical and training director of a medium-sized accounting firm, training manager of Ernst and Young, lecturer at Sunway College and senior lecturer at Tungku Abdul Rahman College.

The content of the course will include the introduction to IFRS and the status of existing IAS, summary of changes to the reporting formats of the balance sheet, income statements and statement of changes in equity and overview of the following IAS/IFRS.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
