School Holds Spelling Bee
Contest
By Amin Hosni
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Lambak Kanan Primary School yesterday organised a
Spelling Bee Competition as part of the school's English Month
(February) activity, with the motto `Lets Speak and Learn English'.
Prior to the contest, students from
all levels were given a spelling test on Monday that consisted of 20
words. Pupils who scored full marks in the test were eligible to
participate at yesterday's competition.
The competition was divided into
two groups - lower primary and upper primary.
During the competition, students
were asked to select a number to spell a word. However, if the pupil
failed to spell the word correctly or hesitated, the word would
lapse. If there was a tie, the same word will be given to the final
participants, the one who spells the word correctly will be the
winner.
Other activities held during the
English Month include written activities, Radio Quiz and
storytelling, and winners of competitions will be announced during
the prize presentation day on March 1 at the school's administration
block. -- Courtesy of Borneo
