Patriotic Poetry Contest At Maktab Duli

Bandar Seri Begawan - Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah yesterday held the finals of a poetry competition, in conjunction with the 24th National Day celebration, at the college's auditorium, Gadong.

The theme for this year's event was "Tunas Bangsa Teras Kemajuan Negara". Present as the guest of honour was Haji Md Farhan bin Haji Hassan of Maktab Duli Student Council.

Yesterday's event, organised by the college's Language and Literature Body, saw 12 contestants battling it out for the top spots.

The winner in the male category was Md Hydzir Zuhdi Haji Sulaiman with his poem, "Sesudah Kemerdekaan.

Meanwhile, the winner in the female category was Nurzawanah Wajihah bte Mohamad with her poem, "Kemerdekaan".  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
