Walkers Crisps Recalled

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Health has advised the public on the possible contamination of Walkers Crisps following Walkers Snacks Food Ltd's recall of some date codes of the products because they may contain pieces of yellow rubber.

The products affected are Walkers Crisps and Walkers Max of different flavours and packaging with best before dates of March 15, 2008 and March 22, 2008.

The ministry will carry out inspections at supermarkets as a precautionary measure to insure that these products arc not sold nor imported into the country stated a press release.

It also advised importers and retailers to recall on the affected products (if any) from markets and surrender them to the Food Safety and Quality Control Division or Health Offices. Consumers who have purchased any of these products should return them to the respective supermarkets or surrender them to the said authorities. The public are also reminded that it is an offence under Section 9(1)-(i) Public Health (Food Act), (Chapter 182) for any person who prepares, sells or imports any food that is hazardous to health.
