Army Cadets Celebrate Anniversary

Begawan - The Military Cadet of the Royal Brunei Malay
Reserve Unit celebrated its 37th anniversary yesterday with a doa
kesyukuran or thanksgiving ceremony held at the Royal Brunei Malay
Reserve Unit Dining Hall in Rimba Camp, Gadong.
The ceremony, attended by the
Commanding Officer of the Royal Brunei Malay Reserve Unit,
Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Ismaon Hj Zainie, began with a mass
Maghrib prayer followed by the reading of the Surah Yassin and
Tahlil.
The doa kesyukuran was read by the
religious officer from the religious section office of the Ministry
of Defence, Ustaz Hj Jamaluddin Hj Lazim, who later concluded the
ceremony with a mass Isya' prayer.
The Military Cadet Royal Brunei
Malay Reserve Unit was formed on January 7, 1971 and since then has
over 500 cadets from 22 secondary schools and colleges throughout
the country.
Among the activities carried out by
the cadets are basic cadet training programmes, parade participation
for national events such as the national day parade and His Majesty
the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's birthday
parade and other sporting activities such as shooting skills and
orienteering.

the Millitary Cadets of the Royal Brunei Malay Reserve Unit is Major
