New Floating Hotel For BSP
Offshore Staff

Begawan - Ajang Hormat, a vessel that will serve as a
floating hotel to accommodate employees of Brunei Shell Petroleum Co
Sdn Bhd, as well as support oil well services and coil tubing
operations at its offshore installations, was commissioned yesterday
morning at the Muara harbour.

Chief guest, Hj Amir bin Hj Othman,
the Managing Director of PTAS - Ajang Marine Services Sdn Bhd,
launched the 194-room vessel at the blessing ceremony.
According to Abd Nasir bin Abd
Rahman, Head of Coil Tubing Unit Operation, TSW45, BSP, the
vessel has been commissioned by the oil company on a long-term
contract to be used at its offshore installations.
"It will serve as accommodation
for BSP offshore employees. The vessel will stay close to
offshore platforms for a month.
"It will return to its dockyard
for maintenance purposes once a month," he said.
Offshore employees of BSP go to
various platforms such as Champion and Ampa Field by helicopters

like Ajang Hormat will serve as
hotel rooms for the employees after they end their shifts," he
added.
In addition to showing his
appreciation to contributors of the donations, the district
officer also cautioned the benefactors to use the money wisely
and responsibly.
Education Officer and victim of
flooding, Hj Zakir Amin of the Sultan Hassan Secondary School,
made a speech in representation of the flood victims at the
event. "On behalf of all the victims of the flooding, I extend
our gratitude and appreciation to all the contributors," he
said. In his speech, the father of two also thanked relief
agencies for their timely and effective help. |
The vessel will also support well
services and coil tubing operations aside from serving as a floating
hotel.
Ajang Hormat is the second vessel
to be commissioned by BSP after Ajang Harapan.
