Police Exhibition Opens In Sungai

- To provide an insight into the development and progress of
the Royal Brunei Police Force since its establishment 87 years ago,
a two-day police exhibition opened yesterday in conjunction with the
anniversary of the Belait District Police this year at a shop
building in Sungai Liang.
Officer Commanding Police District
Belait, Supt Pg Hj Mohd Salleh bin Pg Hj Chuchu, said the exhibition
took place to foster closer relations between the public and police
as well as provide an opportunity for the community to obtain
information on the functions of the force.
In addition, the exhibition serves
to create interest among youngsters looking for employment in the
force as well as instil confidence in the capabilities of the force
in maintaining peace and security, he said in his welcoming remarks.
Showcasing the scope of their work
and equipment were police units from museum; Gadong training centre;
airport safety police; Belait police traffic safety investigations;
reserve `C' company (forest police); reserve `A' company (riot
police); Belait CID; women's and children's abuse investigation;
housebreaking and car theft; CSI and Panaga police headquarters.
Present to officiate the event was
the Assistant Belait District Officer Awang Shahminan bin Hj Tengah,
