Chinese New Year Cheer At Le Gallery, Charcoal

Bandar Seri Begawan - The celebration of Chinese New Year continues in many parts of Brunei with lion dance performances.

Yesterday, the Le Gallery Suites Hotel, as well as the Charcoal Restaurant and Grill, hosted the Chung Hwa Lion Dance Troupe, which performed the lion dance.

The performance was to celebrate this year's Chinese New Year and to bestow good fortune on the premises for the coming year.

Staff members and customers from the two establishments were delighted by the visit from the "lions".

The atmosphere was enlivened further by the accompaniment of drums and the lighting of firecrackers near the entrances of the hotel and the restaurant.

Customers, staff members and others who were drawn by the beating of the drums also took the opportunity to greet the lions, and some even pulled hairs from the lion's beard for good luck. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
