4 Immigration Offenders Caught

Begawan - The Immigration Dept officers caught a 47-year-old
Indonesian housemaid, Harti, on Wednesday for breaching her work
permit.
Harti
came to Brunei to work as a housemaid but was caught selling food at
a salon when the immigration officers ran a routine check.
The officers found Harti was
selling the food without consent and knowledge of her employer.
Regulation 15(3) states that
foreigners working in Brunei must adhere to their work permits.
Offenders of this regulation could
be locked up for not more than six months or fined not more than
B$2,000, or both. Meanwhile, in a separate operation,
a party of 12 immigration officers conducted a raid at several
suspected locations and brought in three foreign workers who flouted
the law.
The three immigration offenders
were found to have expired working passes.
