Fire & Rescue Dept Holds Registration For Potential Firemen

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Fire and Rescue Department, Ministry of Home Affairs is currently holding a registration session to select potential candidates for Penguasa Perkhidmatan Bomba and Pegawai Balai at the Fire and Rescue Headquarters.

The four-day registration session, held from 8.30am to 11.30am and 2pm to 4pm, will end today.

Potential candidates for the post of Penguasa Perkhidmatan Bomba will require a minimum academic qualification of Higher National Diploma (HND) or its equivalent for direct entries, while in-service personnel will require at least three years of experience as Assistant Penguasa Perkhidmatan Bomba.

Meanwhile, for Pegawai Balai, candidates require a minimum academic qualification of National Diploma or its equivalent.

To become a member of the Fire and Rescue Department, physical and mental fitness are essential. A physical fitness test has been established to assess potential candidates' stamina in terms of physical and mental fitness.

Medical checkups require candidates to be in the healthy BMI (body Mass index) range, have good eyesight and be in good shape.

Potential candidates will also undergo a test on public speaking and - will be interviewed to assess the suitability of candidates.

Those who pass the tests will be invited to take a written test on February 22, 8.30am, at Berakas Secondary School.
