8 Contestants Make It To Quarterfinal

Bandar Seri Begawan - Fifteen contestants, comprising 12 males and three females, from various mosques nationwide put up a display of their Al-Quran recitation quality at the Brunei 1 zone-level competition yesterday.

At the end of the event, eight contestants made it to the quarterfinal, which will be held at the Perpindahan Lambak Kanan Mosque early next month.

Hj Musliadi Hj Kamis won first place with 88 per cent marks, while the second and third place went to Mohd Ramli Hj Ladis and Hj Asmat Hj Tuah, respectively.

According to the contest judges, "To make it to the next level, the readers must be able to impress in terms of recitation, vocal and pronunciation".
