NBT Holds Off-Road Driving Course
For 4WD Owners
Tutong
- NBT recently held its 5th Basic Four Wheel-Drive
Instruction Course at Lubok Pulau in Mukim Tanjung Maya, Tutong
District, as part of its efforts to drive customer service and
customer satisfaction, a press release stated.
Arranged specially free-of-charge
to reward and benefit loyal NBT 4WD buyers who service their
vehicles at NBT's Service Centres, the course was aimed at providing
owners with the knowledge and skills to safely take their vehicles
off-road into the rough and tough terrain that their vehicles are
capable of.
"We would like our course
participants to realise that their 4WD is actually more fun off the
road," said Haji Shahrum Haji Kadir, NBT General Sales Manager, who
is also the Course Coordinator and Chief Instructor.
More than 30 participants were
introduced to the finer points of 4WD driving by Lt Col Salehin bin
Hj Taib of Persatuan Gemilang Tutong, who co-organised the course
together with NBT.
During the course of the day, the
participants were shown the finer points of Steep Hill Descent,
Driving Uphill, Sand Driving & Recovery, and Wheel-Changing
Techniques. The latter may sound easy until you actually get down to
changing the wheel of a Toyota Landcruiser. But with the right
technique, even a petite lady can do it quite easily!
"Each of the above activities
requires specialised skills and knowledge that most 4WD owners in
Brunei Darussalam have limited opportunities to acquire. They will
probably also never discover or appreciate the fun of driving in the
rough and tough," said Haji Shahrum who acquired his knowledge and
skills from the experts in Sydney, Australia, back in 2003. -- Courtesy of Borneo
