Nakhoda Ragam Vocational School Welcomes 135 New Intakes

Bandar Seri Begawan - Some 135 new students have successfully been chosen to take the National Trade Certificate Grade 2/3 programmes at Nakhoda Ragam Vocational School in Jalan MuaraTutong, Lambak Kanan.

The 24th orientation ceremony for the 2008-2009 sessions was held yesterday at the school's multipurpose hall. Principal Dk Hamidah Pg Hj Hidup was the event's guest of honour. Teachers, parents and students were also present.

In her speech, Dk Hamidah highlighted that since 1993; about 1,930 students have been registered to join the school's various programmes.

These include carpentry and joinery, consumer electronics, bricklaying and concreting, as well as painting, decorating and plumbing, which are important in the construction industry.

The principal also reminded the new students to use the opportunity wisely, study and work hard, among other things, and also congratulated them on their achievement. Yesterday's ceremony also saw a briefing on the HSBC Young Entrepreneurs Award 2008 from the bank. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
