Tutong Holds First, Meeting For Sultan's 62nd Birthday

Tutong - Preperations for His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 62nd birthday celebration were discussed during the first meeting on the royal birthday celebration at Dewan Utama, Tutong Community Hall yesterday.

Members of the organising committee in Tutong are keen to organise another memorable show and hope to retain the district's number one position for the special performances and field decorations for His Majesty's birthday celebration.

According to the Acting Tutong District Officer, Hj Muhammad Suffian Hj Bungsu, ensuring that Tutong comes in first place again for the special performances and field decorations held in conjunction with the get-together ceremony between His Majesty and the rakyat (people) in the district is not the main objective.

What is important is that His Majesty is warmly welcomed and celebrated during the event, he said, adding that it is hoped that everyone involved in the celebration would work hard to make this year's celebration in Tutong even better than last year's.

During yesterday's meeting, suggestions were made on the type of celebratory events to be held during the special day and those involved in the celebration were briefed on the format of the special performances.
