Chinese Tourists Come In Big
Numbers
By James Ken
Bandar Seri
Begawan - In a span of six days beginning yesterday, some 406
tourists from the People's Republic of China will be arriving in
Brunei Darussalam.
The first of three batches of
tourists numbering 156 people from Guangzhou, China were welcomed by
the sounds of hadrah, gulingtangan last night at the Brunei
International Airport.
Present at the airport was Awang
Nordin Ahmad, Acting Assistant Director of Brunei Tourism.
The Chinese tourist influx can be
attributed to the marketing and promotion efforts made by Brunei
Tourism in a road show held in Nanning, Kunming and Chong Qing in
China last November.
The special chartered flights that
carry the Chinese tourists to Brunei are handled by PJ Majestic
Tours. During the three-day, two-night stay, the tourists will be
visiting the water village, Jame' Asr Mosque, Royal Regalia, Istana
Nurul Iman and Jerudong Park.
The next flight carrying 150
Chinese tourists from Shanghai to Brunei's capital will be arriving
Sunday afternoon while the final batch of 100 tourists will be
touching down Monday evening. -- Courtesy of
