JHMM Official Representative Of Prestigious UK Institutions
By Ben Ng

Bandar Seri Begawan - Local Brunei education consultancy James Hon Marketing and Management (JHMM) was recently made the official representative of two prestigious British institutions.

Among a list of competitors, JHMM was nominated by the University of Hull and Hull College to facilitate applications from Brunei Darussalam. The double appointment has made JHMM the `exclusive representative' for Hull's top varsities.

JHMM General Manager Delon Hon likened the appointment to `being given the education key to the city.'

"This significant appointment shows the tremendous faith Hull has bestowed upon the 16-year-old consultancy," noted Hon.

The appointment will bring with it huge responsibilities to JHMM, which Hon has acknowledged, reassuring that his firm will make boundless efforts to promote City of Hull in the Sultanate.

Renowned for churning out a; large number of British politicians, the University of Hull (UoH) is a traditional and research led university. Offering a diversity of courses from Bachelors to Research Doctorates, it is among the first division of research universities, according to JHMM.

The university currently has over 2,000 international students from over 100 countries in its Hull and Scarborough campuses, in addition to being ranked second in a recent survey conducted by the International Student Barometer.

UoH has also been ranked Top 40 in the United Kingdom and Top 500 in the world, in addition to being rated as one of the best places to study in Britain, according to a British National Student Survey. Located within three miles from Hull city centre, its main campus is surrounded by lush countryside and rolling hills. The university is approximately 200 miles from London and Edinburgh and is within an hour's drive from Leeds and York.

According to Hon, UoH also has one of UK's best Student Unions, which purportedly does an `excellent job of keeping the students entertained all year round.'

"I am aware that there are a number of Hull's Alumnus in Brunei and I will be delighted to hear from them. I shall be looking forward to meeting them at future Alumni events," said Hon.

Located adjacent to Hull City's high streets is the award winning Hull College. With some 30,000 students, Hull College is one of the largest and most vibrant Further Education Colleges in the UK.

The college - which holds an impressive number of national awards - is recognised for its outstanding quality in delivering vocational courses according to Hon. Hull College is a member of UK's '157 Group'- UK's most influential FE colleges, Hon added.

"With four campuses in the city, the college offers a full range of academic and vocational programmes that include Bachelor Degree level," said the consultant of the college-that currently welcomes students from over 25 different countries.

"Hull College offers just over 1,200 courses and I expect their HND's and National Diplomas to be very attractive to Bruneian students. The college facilities, including a full-scale indoor `teaching building site,' are very impressive," he added.
