Flea Market Concept For KB Motor
Carnival
By Liza Mohd
Kuala Belait
- The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Dato Paduka
Awang Haji Dani bin Haji Ibrahim, was in Kuala Belait yesterday
morning to attend the official launching of the one-week Motor
Carnival event organised by MediaPro Publications Sdn Bhd.
The motor carnival is a grand motor
expo co-organised by Sin Hap Huat Tyre to promote businesses in the
district.
During the opening, the Deputy
Minister delivered a short speech and proceeded to tour the
exhibition. A "Hummer" vehicle on display is a crowd-puller. Also
enlivening the event is a parade of exhibited Mini-Austins and a
convoy of Nissan 300 ZX.
The one-week event sees
participation from over 40 motoring companies and other business
establishments promoting and showcasing their products in the Belait
District. The carnival adopts the concept of a flea market with
participation from big motoring companies, thus providing an
opportunity for customers to enjoy attractive promotions and
discounts.
The carnival also serves to provide
a healthy and friendly competition among Brunei motoring businesses.
Throughout the week, the carnival
will be enlivened with car and motorcycle exhibitions, bazaar and
food stalls. Various activities will also take place such as
fund-raising events, paramotor show, car radio control competition,
live band and singing performances as well as bouncers for children.
To complement the official
launching yesterday, a gokart racing also took place along Jalan
Mckerron.
The first motor carnival was
organised in the Tutong District last year. This year the grand
motor show is brought to the oil and gas district for the first
time.
Meanwhile an exhibition on IT
products and electronics is made available to members of the public
inside the Municipal Hall building located nearby. -- Courtesy of Borneo
