Students Attend Anti-Drug Talk

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Department of Narcotics conducted a talk on prevention of drug abuse recently for Primary Six students of Chung Hua Middle School in Kuala Belait.

Four representatives from the Department of Narcotics headed by Senior Narcotics Officer II Pg Hj Ali B Pg Hj Samsuddin conducted the talk.

It was formulated to target school students who are vulnerable to drug addiction.

Hence it is important from a young age to be aware of the various harmful effects that drug abuse can have on them physically and mentally.

The talk covered the aspects of prevention, including the right attitude that students should have like a sense of responsibility and belonging and realising the importance of education,

The students were also briefed on the undesirable effects drug abuse can have on a person's health and social consequences like punishment under the anti-narcotic laws.

The lessons on the dangers of drug abuse were emphasised with a cartoon demonstration which illustrated the message better.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
