Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of
Health said that World Braille Day, which falls on January 4, is a
meaningful day for the blind in every part of the world, including
Brunei Darussalam.
The invention and introduction of
writing in Braille more than 200 years ago have given hope, strength
and empowerment to those who have lost their vision.
Braille has transformed those
suffering from vision impairment and blindness into a literate
community, giving them the opportunity to write, read and count.
This gives them the opportunity to be independent as well as access
to learning and higher education.
"In my opinion, the role of Braille
For those who has lost their vision continues to be relevant and of
importance today as it was 200 years ago," said the Deputy Minister. -- Courtesy of Borneo
