By Rosli Abidin Yahya
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Fourteen women took time to learn the tricks of
baking cakes in a specially-organised class conducted by Royal
Brunei Catering (RBC) at its Amigos Café, Royal Brunei Recreation
Club in Berakas last Saturday morning.
Facilitated by Chef Sri Rohaya Hj
Johari, RBC Demi Chef de Partie specialising in cakes and pastries,
the course was conducted to show participants on how to bake
delicious cakes to treat guests during the upcoming Chinese New
Year.
For non-Chinese participants, they
will be able to bake cakes to be given as gifts to celebrants.
Chef Sri Rohaya - assisted by RBC
sales and marketing assistant, Mohd Jafni Hj Md Hussain —showed the
women how to make Tiramisu and chocolate cake.
"RBC has been conducting monthly
cooking classes since April 2006," said Ivy Chong, the RBC assistant
manager for public relations, publications and advertising.
She said the classes have been very
popular that RBC has decided to conduct two sessions monthly for the
rest of the year.
"There will be two sessions - the
first Saturday and the last Friday of the month. Those who missed
today's classes may participate in the next class on Feb 29 from
9.45am to 12pm," she added.
She urged those interested to call
for reservation as seats are limited. She also invited interested
men to attend the course.
