Jerudong Arabic School Holds Walkathon

Bandar Seri Begawan - Some 350 students and teachers ofJerudong Arabic School yesterday morning took part in a 3.5km walkathon in conjunction with the new Islamic year Hijrah 1429 organised by the Co-Curriculum Unit.

It required participants to cover a route that started from Jerudong Arabic School, went around Jalan Jerudong Park and then back again to the school. Present as the event's guest of honour was Headmistress Ustazah Hjh Fatimah Hj Ahmad, who also led the walk.

The walkathon aimed not only to promote a healthy lifestyle, but also to foster closer ties among participants, especially between the teachers and students. The programme ended with a doa selamat read by Ustaz Hj Abd Hakim Hj Besar and a quiz competition to enliven the atmosphere. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
