Stoykov Wants Fans To Come In Full Force
By Alex How

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei DPMM FC's coach lordan Stoykov called on the local fans to come and support the team in their last match of the first round against UPB/My Team tonight at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.

"With local support, the team will play better and harder," said Stoykov. "The team has been working hard in their day-to-day training and we are all waiting for a win," he added.

Brunei DPMM FC will take on the team one place below them in the table standings but the coach has cautioned the players that each game will be tough and to expect another hard game from UPB/My Team.

UPB/My Team, a merged team of Perak UPB FC and MyTeam (a team created from Malaysian reality TV show), have not enjoyed a good spell in the Super League. The newly promoted team with eight points thus far has picked up two wins, two draws and seven losses including a 2-0 loss to Selangor on Tuesday night.

"In our game against Selangor last weekend, we played great," added Stoykov. "And we have lost two things in that game, we lost the match to Selangor, and we also lost a striker (Tiago Dos Santos). This is worst than losing a game."

Tiago has picked up two yellow cards and will be suspended for the match tonight.

"Fadlin (Galawat) is yet to be 100 per cent fit but he is a very committed player and good striker, we hope we will get something tonight," he added.

Having to pick just one point from their previous three matches, Moroccan Abdel Hakim El-Bahloul admits that the team has fallen into the wrong side of the table.

"At this moment, we have a series of bad results but this is just only temporary," he added.

"We are very unlucky, we have good players in the team, and we have two great players, Shahrazen (Said) and Fadlin, who have not been playing" said the former Olympic player.

"It is a very tough league, the standard is increasing every year," he added. The new import has injected new defensive element to the team and has conceded I1 goals in the first' half of the season compared to 13 goals last season.

The tall defender could also be a solution for coach Stoykov upfront as Abdel Hakim has a good scoring instinct. He has already put his name on the scoresheet in the match against PDRM (Police).-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
