Four Lions Wake Up For Chinese New Year

Kuala Belait - Four new lions sprung to life in an eye dotting ceremony at Chung Hwa School Kuala Belait on Thursday to awaken them for the Chinese New Year celebration.

The new lions were officially unveiled by members of the school's Board of Directors led by Pehin Ng Teck Hock.

The new lion eyes were dotted with red paint, believed to awaken them.

While ribbons are tied on the old lions' horn to further bless them.

The dance troupe also performed a brief show for the members of the Board of Directors and spectators.

The Chung Hwa lion dance troupe is expected to perform at business establishments and private residences in Belait District from the first day of the Chinese New Year, on Feb 7.

Meanwhile, members of the public can see the full performance of the Chung Hua School Lion Dance Troupe on Feb 16 at the school hall.

The lion dance troupe will be performing to raise money for the school fund.
