Brothers Convert To Islam

Bandar Seri Begawan - Two brothers recently converted to Islam at the residence of the Kampong Batang Mitus Village Head.

They are Sukarman bin Sungkai, 23, and Sunnie bin Sungkai, 26, of the Royal Brunei Land Force. They became interested in Islam in religious class during their days in Batang Mitus Primary School.

The brothers read their pledge to convert to Islam in the presence of hundreds of colleagues, friends and family members. Sukarman Sungkai is now known as Muhammad Syukri Hidayatullah Abdullah Sungkai, while Sunnie Sungkai is now known as Muhammad Sunnie Abdullah Sungkai.

The guest of honour was Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Hj Awg Halbi Hj Md Yussof, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
