Minister Takes Closer Look A Muara Port Ops

Brunei-Muara - The Minister of Communications, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Haji Abu Bakar Haji Apong, conducted a working visit to the Ports Department and the Muara Container Terminal today to take a closer look on the daily operation at Muara Port. Accompanying the Minister were Haji Ibrahim Haji Hassan, acting Permanent Secretary of the ministry, as well as other senior officers.

The minister was briefed on the progress of national development projects, status of performance for conventional and container terminal, followed by a question and answer dialogue with officers from the Ports Department.

The minister then observed the operations of the Muara Container Terminal and also visited the office of ASAFF MCT Sdn Bhd, the interim operator of the Muara Container Terminal.

It is one of the ministry's objectives to successfully ensure the creation and sustainability of a conducive business environment at Muara Port as shipping services is being considered as the most important factor in realising the vision to become the hub port for the Bimp-Eaga sub-region.-- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
