Tutong Hospital Celebrates 1429 Hijrah

Tutong - PMMPMHAMB Hospital held a gathering to celebrate the new year of 1429 Hijrah at its Surau As Salaam yesterday.

The celebration began with the recital of surah alFatihah, followed by tahlil led by Ustaz Hj Tarop Pardi.

Ustaz Dr Asnawi Hj Astra subsequently deleivered his talk on the significance of Hijrah. He highlighted the sacrificial journey exemplified by Prophet Muhamad and his companions from Mecca to Medina 1429 years ago.

"It was much more than a simple migration; it was a turning point in the history of Islam, which constitutes the complete transformation of society.

"Furthermore, the journey has a deep religious impact, reminding Muslims of the need for courage to move forward, such as polishing one's unpleasant attitude or behaviour in order to accomplish praiseworthy success in life," Ustaz Dr Asnawi said.

A thanksgiving prayer for five officers and staff from the hospital as well as from Tutong Health Department was also held to mark their safe return from their recent pilgrimage to Mecca.

Present at the event were the hospital's chief executive officer (CEO), Awang Mohammad Sabri Hj Anuar, senior officers and staff of both the hospital and Tutong Health Department. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
