Teachers To Build Camaraderie,
Unity In Inaugural Sports Meet

Begawan - Teachers from more than 20 non-government schools
throughout the country will flex their muscles in their bid to win
medals and honours for their respective establishments at the
inaugural sports meet on Sunday, February 3, which is meant to
strengthen ties amongst teachers of private institutions.
To be held at the Field and Track,
Mumong Sports Complex in Kuala Belait, the event is organised to
commemorate the 17th Teachers Day.
A spokeswoman for the event said
all teachers participating in the meet are required to be present at
the sporting venue before 8 am on the said date.
The opening ceremony of the sports
meet will be officiated by Dk Hajah Mastoli bte PSI Hj Ismail, the Acting Director
General of Education, Ministry of Education.
Organised by the
Non-Government School Section, Ministry of Education the inaugural
sports meet is expected to conclude at noon.
Some 11 events will be held during
the meet which will include track and field events.
A spokeswoman
for the event said the sports meet is a tribute to teachers of
private schools for their hard work and dedication.
"They have been spending time
teaching students in classes and rarely have the chance to see each
other. They can use this occasion to unwind and forget about work
